Today In Idiot Gun Owners: Red Sox Prospect Brentz Shoots Self In Leg Cleaning His Gun

Gun owners are not typically idiots in my experience. This guy may be an exception.

Guess you don’t read the news much.

Now I’ve been handling, using, and instructing firearms for over forty years.
I can’t imagine or vision how he “accidentally” shot himself in the leg “cleaning” his shotgun while it was “in his pants”.
Please provide a drawing or reconstruction for all of us who need to prevent this from re-occuring.

Alright let’s all settle down with the polarity issues.
I’ve been focused on this and here is what I believe happened;
1) His firearm was the Rossi “Judge” or variant.
2) It was loaded with a .45LC round.
3) He negligently discharged the revolver, probably practicing “quick draw”.
There are people who should be denied the possession of firearms just as the selected/qualified are allowed to perform trades and professions.
Folks please use extreme caution with firearms.
I hate them but they are our nemesis and we are responsible.

If I was a cook, and someone wrote and article about an “idiot cook” who burnt himself grabbing a hot pan by accident, I wouldn’t cry foul just because I’m a cook. I would realize that I’m smart enough not to do that, and realize that some other people within my group (cooks in general) are indeed dumb enough to make that stupid mistake.

I wouldn’t assume he was talking about each and every cook in the whole world, myself included, and think he was calling us all dumb… just a small segment within the collective.
