Stock Up: Six Fantasy Basketball Players On The Rise

We’re in the meat of the NBA season, which means it’s time to make your move in Fantasy Basketball if you want to win the whole shebang – and RotoExperts’ Adam Ronis is here to identify six players on the rise. Keep an eye on them, and scoop ‘em up when the time is right.

1.Jeff Green (Celtics, F)

Green is getting more minutes and becoming more involved in the offense. Even though Brandon Bass is starting, Green is the better fantasy play as he can play both forward spots, and that is more important with Jared Sullinger out for the year. Green has scored in double-digits in five consecutive games, averaging 14.2 points. 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks, one 3-pointer, while shooting 26-for-47 (55.3 percent) from the field.

2.Marreese Speights (Cavaliers, F/C)

Since being acquired by the Cavaliers, Speights has become a big part of the rotation despite coming off the bench, and there’s a possibility he could enter the starting lineup soon. Even if he doesn’t, he will play enough minutes to contribute. Speights has played at least 29 minutes in the last two games. In five games with the Cavaliers, Speights is averaging 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, 0.6 steals and is shooting 31-for-58 (53.4 percent).

3.Martell Webster (Wizards, F)

Webster is playing well and getting more minutes recently due to some injuries on the Wizards. Webster has played at least 30 minutes in five straight games and is averaging 15 points, three 3-pointers, 0.8 steals, while shooting 24-for-49 (49 percent) from the field.

4.Byron Mullens (Bobcats, F/C)

Many may have forgotten about Mullens and dropped him after he suffered a severe ankle injury in late December. Mullens returned on Monday night and was supposed to play 10-12 minutes, but he played more than 28. He had 12 points, nine rebounds, two steals, two 3-pointers and one blocked shot. Mullens shot only 5 of 14 from the field and is shooting 37 percent for the season, but he should still be owned in all leagues. He is averaging 11.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 3-pointers, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks on the season.

5.Randy Foye (Jazz, G)

Foye has been in the starting lineup most of the season, but the Jazz have needed him to do more recently with injuries to Mo Williams, Gordon Hayward and Earl Watson. Foye is playing more point guard and averaging 16.6 points, 4.4 assists and three 3-pointers in his last five games. Foye has taken 67 shots from the field in that span.

6.Nick Young (76ers, G)

Young has started five consecutive games with Jason Richardson injured. And Young is producing, averaging 17.2 points, four rebounds, two 3-pointers, and 1.8 steals per game. He may start for the remainder of the season.
