Guy Lets Son Hold Beer While He Takes A Picture, Is Kicked Out Of NFL Stadium And Nearly Arrested

There is a silver lining here: getting kicked out of an Arizona Cardinals preseason game is probably a blessing in disguise. Hear the ridiculous story from the man himself.

Just after the opening kickoff of the Arizona Cardinals’ preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, Cardinals season ticket holder John Coulter wanted to take a picture. He says he asked his 15-year-old son to hold his beer cup while he did so.

Seconds later, two undercover officers with the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control approached him. Coulter says they told him that what he did was illegal and that he could be arrested for it. In the end, officers escorted the father and son out of the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Officials say Coulter is lucky he was able to walk away from the situation.

Wow, what a “lucky” guy, narrowly escaping two years in jail for making his son hold something while he took a picture!

Providing a child a beer is and should be an offense, but the officers should also be trained to use their best judgement and common sense. If the child had possession of the beer longer than was needed to take the picture, if the dad had the son hold the beer when it wasn’t actually necessary to do so, if the child took a drink from the cup… If none of those things happened then the dad should only have been given a warning. We’re only hearing one side of the story, perhaps he was initially given a warning but didn’t take well to that, and so the officers chose to treat him as a nuisance.

Common sense is not so common, is it? I understand the officers have a job to do but it would seem they didn’t take the time to even listen to the guy’s story. Its obviously the father’s beer, he is sitting right next to his son, the father is in possession of a cell phone and could easily demonstrate that he just took the picture.
The officers were wrong and owe this father an apology and the Cardinals should give this guy free tickets to a future game.

How absurd!!!!!!!!!! Authorities need to worry about serious problems going on in the world other than busting this man’s balls!!!!!!! So damn worried about his son holding a beer when I bet you there were at least 120 + illegal aliens in the crowd!!!!!!! ( just an estimate, but making a point ) This country is going to hell fast!!!!!!!!!
