Halftime At Super Bowl I: A QB Smoking A Cig, No Bruno Mars In Sight

At halftime of Super Bowl I, there was no Bruno Mars. (How did people survive?) But there was Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson… smoking a cigarette.

Len Dawson Super Bowl Cigarette

He went on to lose to Bart Starr’s Green Bay Packers, and little Skip Bayless went to ninth grade and nearly had a heart attack explaining to his biology class how the cigarette lost them the game.

Most adults used to smoke, including doctors. The smoking rate declined to about a third of what it once was. That’s why smoking related death began to decline 23 years ago.(at least) That’s also why so called tobacco control has shown that secondhand smoke is harmless. They claim that their “deaths” have more than tripled since then. You do not get more effect (death) from a declining source unless you have the wrong cause.Especially when the most effected, smokers, are improving.

Btw,they didn’t lose because he smoked. He won the next Super Bowl he played in.So,using so called tobacco control’s illogical logic again, more tobacco use would make him play better. He beat the Vikings in Super Bowl IV & was MVP.
