Of Course Marvel And ESPN Are Teaming Up To Make “Special Edition” Tim Tebow Comic Sketches

Tim Tebow, who finished the season as the 28th best quarterback in the NFL, is getting his own special comic book sketches. Yes, the folks over at Marvel Comics, along with ESPN, are giving Tebow, one of the league’s least efficient quarterbacks, the superhero treatment. Here’s what it’ll look like:

So no, this doesn’t seem to be a joke. There is seriously a Tebow comic-sketch-book in the works, called “Tebow Time.” It’s not known what his superpower is going to be (except for his ability to stick in the NFL), but I imagine they’ll somehow work his faith into the storyline. According to Marvel:

“Like the Marvel heroes who pull off last minute victories, Tim Tebow has fans around the world on the edge of their seats and believing that in our own lives when time is running out and all looks lost, we can dig deep inside and use our various strengths to triumph over insurmountable odds,” says Bill Rosemann of Marvel.

In other words, this is yet another ridiculous marketing stunt. Maybe Matt Moore wasn’t available? What about Andy Dalton? He’s a rookie quarterback who led his team to the playoffs. Wait, what’s that guy’s name in Green Bay? Yes, Aaron Rodgers! He’s pretty good, too.

Plus, superhero Tebow doesn’t look all that tough. Where’s the cape? Can he fly? Can he see through buildings? What can Tim Tebow do? No matter the details, I’m pretty sure we can mark this one down as a marketing success for both Marvel and ESPN.

    Why can’t you peoplr leave Tim Tebow alone.  I suppose you do not believe in GOD?  How about someone making some smart axx comments about you, your brother or sister?  Everyone has a chance and some cannot make it the first time, but they continue trying and guess what, they end up the best at what they do!!!

    The best quarterbacks score all the time and it really isn’t such a miracle that they made it into the end zone. When Tebow drops the company honoring the name of the pagan goddess NIKE and ends the curse… maybe we won’t be so surprised that he made it into the end zone… maybe that will be one day just be expected of him.

    From the tone and quality work written here I postulate the author would not dare write even a mildly disdainful piece should Tebow be a Muslim.  Huh?

    There’s already  a worthless superhero in comics, his name is Aquaman. The only time you’ll see Tebow fly this weekend is when James Harrison knocks him on his ass.

    Why is it that so many of you like to say ugly things about Tim?  Sometime it seems you are envious, or jealous.  How many QB’S score in every game and every quarter?  Pleas tell me?
    IF you had the faith that Tim has you might be a better person.  He is not expecting God to let him win, he is thanking God for giving him the honor of playing and asks for strength to do the best job possible.  Every player has to start out, and it takes plenty of practice and Playing to be better and I do believe Tim will be doing much better after more playing.  Give him a chance!

    Tom Lorenzo you are a sad, pathetic little man with a huge jealousy streak. Will Tim ever be a top quarterback in the NFL? Probably not. BUT! He is there, winning. You are not and never will be. Keep up the wonderfull prose.
