NFL Week 13 Power Rankings: The Patriots Are Not Number One

NFL Power Rankings

Our NFL Week 13 Power Rankings are here. The Denver Broncos lost to the New England Patriots, but don’t just assume the Pats vaulted to No. 1… that’s not how this works. The New York Jets dropped, but they did not fall in to last. The Pittsburgh Steelers are not in the Top 10. Nor are the Baltimore Ravens. There is movement every week, but it is much less drastic than your standard, knee-jerk Power Rankings.

These rankings are based mainly on betting odds, approximating the power ratings made by oddsmakers. One game typically has a fairly small effect on the numbers, as numbers do not fall prey to recency bias. So, understand that these rankings are not my rankings, nor are they SportsGrid’s rankings. These rankings are very similar to the ones that make point spreads. As I will reiterate all year, I’m not an expert, because nobody is an expert.

The media’s Broncos worship is so old. Can’t wait for this season to end to get a break from it. And no, they won’t win the Super Bowl, but you will probably act like they did anyway.

Any ranking system is totally bogus if it does not rate the Vikings as the worst in football.

I haven’t seen anyone in the media rank the Broncos first this week (although I admittedly haven’t looked at a ton of rankings.) Have you seen that anywhere?

You can certainly make that argument… but they’d still be favored over the Jags and most likely the Raiders.

You must be kidding to have the Saints at #6. We defeated the Niners and you ranked them #3 and the Panther #4. Both teams with worst records than the Saints. http://www.SaintsNews.net

haha come on man, read the intro, you’re better than this

So Denver is 1 and 2 against winning teams and are still number 1. Don’t get it.
