There’s been a lot of debate over whether or not it was socially acceptable for Jamaal Charles to ask for Peyton Manning’s autograph after his Chiefs lost to the Broncos 17-9 on Sunday. Here’s Jamaal to set the record straight:

Charles didn’t seem to care for the haters, but just wanted to give his mama a gift.

This is the autograph from Peyton that my Mama sent me to go get for my brother, and everybody is making a big deal out of it. The man is a legend. He plays great football. He’s a Hall of Famer. So what if I got it, man.

OK, Jamaal, we can dig it now.
