Back the Kings as a Home Underdog vs. the Minnesota Wild
The NHL’s Western division is pretty fascinating this year because of some significant gaps between the really good and the terrible teams. It looked like the LA Kings would be a really bad team, but there’s some value on them tonight against the Wild. The Kings will be a spunky bunch, and they’re not the worst team in that division. They added a few nice pieces, and their young players are very good and are getting a shot for the first time.
There’s definitely a divide in this division between Vegas, Colorado, and St. Louis and the rest of the teams that will fight for the fourth spot. LA is one of those teams that are going to do be there in the fight for fourth. They are a solid futures bet at the Fan Duel Sportsbook for the over on season points. They can beat 48 and a half or 49 and a half points this season.
The Wild, on the other hand — straight up stink — they’ve got terrible goaltending. Bringing in Cam Talbot didn’t help their cause as he is just awful. The Kings know him well from being in that division for the last few years and know how to score on him. The Kings with plus money as a home dog for opening night is a solid play on a team that should surprise people this season.
