What to Watch For
This will be QB Case Keenum’s debut for Washington, having beaten Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy for the starting spot. It’ll be up to him to more so limit any mistakes as opposed to looking for big plays.
In the two matchups between these sides last season, Washington ran for 104 and 21 yards. In four career matchups vs Philly, RB Adrian Peterson has rushed for 286 yards on 5.20 yards per carry with two TDs. Peterson is projected to finish with 43 yards on 14 carries, averaging just 0.1 TDs per sim. He’ll have some help with Derrius Guice in the back too, finally back from an injury-ridden season last year.
Washington doesn’t have much on the roster to give its fan hope this season. What they do have going for them, though, is a young and above-average defensive line. They should be able to contain the run game more often than not.
These two teams met most recently in the last week of 2018-2019 season when Philly won convincingly, 24-0.
Case Keenum is projected to finish with 213 passing yards on 18-to-19 completions. He averages 1.3 TDs and 0.6 INTs per sim.
Carson Wentz is projected to finish with 223 passing yards on 16 completions. He averages 1.7 TDs and 0.4 INTs per sim.
Odds indicate there’s a 52 percent chance the total combined score stays under 44.5. That happens in close to 60 percent of simulations. Average combined score in sims is 42.1 points. Four-star (out of four) hot-trend pick.
