Week 12 College Football Best Bets
Week 12 College Football Best Bets
It’s crazy to think we are already in Week 12 of the college football season, but here we are with a lot of quality matchups this weekend. Let’s look at some of the best bets of the week with all odds being brought to you by our friends at FanDuel.
#9 Indiana Hoosiers at #3 Ohio State Buckeyes
Odds: Buckeyes, -20.5, Over/Under 66.5
The Indiana Hoosiers have been of the most surprising teams in all of college football in 2020 and come into Columbus undefeated and ranked in the top ten for the first time in more than 50 years. Indiana is not only undefeated straight up, but also are 4-0 ATS. The Hoosiers have got solid quarterback play from Michael Penix Jr, and their defense ranks in the top 20 in the country in yards allowed and points per game.
Despite all this success, they are still a three-touchdown underdog against Ohio State. Like every year, the Buckeyes are absolutely loaded on all sides of the ball and really hasn’t been challenged this year. Quarterback Justin Fields has been nearly perfect all season long with 13 total touchdowns and zero interceptions while having the best QBR in the NCAA at 96.4. Ohio State is one of the country’s best teams and will win this game but will not cover the large point spread. Indiana is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Columbus, and those teams weren’t nearly as talented as the 2020 squad is.
Best Bets: Indiana +20.5
#7 Cincinnati Bearcats at Central Florida Knights
Odds: Bearcats -6.5, Over/Under 63.5
“Good teams win, but great teams cover.” The Cincinnati Bearcats have been not only beating good football teams lately, but they have been smashing them. The Bearcats have covered in its last four games by an average of 22.5 points. The Bearcats defense has been one of the best in the country while only allowing 11 points per game and will have their work cut out for them as they face off against the number one ranked offense in the country with Central Florida.
UCF is having a record-setting year as they are averaging over 619 yards of offense and 44 points per game. Sophomore quarterback Dillon Gabriel has already thrown for over 2,700 yards with 23 touchdown passes with only two interceptions. The Bounce House might only have around 11,000 fans, but it will still be rocking for the primetime game against the Bearcats. However, nobody in the country is playing as well as the Bearcats right now, and they have a chance for a statement win as they try to sneak into the College Football Playoff. Look for Bearcat quarterback Desmond Ridder to have a big day as the Bearcats go into Orlando and win by double-digits.
Best Bet: Bearcats -6.5
#14 Oklahoma State Cowboys at #18 Oklahoma Sooners
Odds: Sooners -7.5, Over/Under 58.5
At the beginning of the year, many would have thought this year’s Battle of Bedlam would have had massive College Football Playoff implications, but now they are both just fighting to try and have a chance at the Big XII conference championship. The Sooners come into the game scoring over 60 points in consecutive games as Freshman quarterback Spencer Rattler continues to improve and will be a Heisman hopeful next year. The Oklahoma State Cowboys have been winning games via their stout defense and running the ball with Chubba Hubbard. The Sooners have been one of the best teams against the spread at 5-2 and are 4-1 ATS their last 5 games against the Cowboys. Expect the Sooners to continue to roll as Oklahoma State doesn’t have enough firepower on the offensive side of the ball to compete with the Sooners.
Best Bets: Oklahoma -7.5
