Week 7 College Football Best Bets
College Football Best Bets Week 7
Week 7 of college football is here, and it features a preview of two teams destined to meet again in the SEC championship game down the road. Let’s look at some of the best bets of the week with all odds being brought to you by FanDuel.
#3 Georgia Bulldogs at #2 Alabama Crimson Tide
Odds: Crimson Tide -3.5, Over/Under 56.5
The big news coming into this game is head coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday and won’t be on the field to coach this Saturday night against Georgia with offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian filling in. Not having one of the greatest coaches of all-time on the sideline will hurt the Crimson Tide, especially when your team is going against the second-ranked defense in all of college football.
Georgia’s defense is holding teams to just 38 rushing yards a game, and in last week’s game against Tennessee, the Volunteers had -1 yard on the ground. On the other side, the Alabama defense is coming off a performance in which they allowed 48 points and over 600 yards of offense to Ole Miss.
If history is any indication of the outcome of this game, then that bodes well for Georgia as the last six games between these two teams, the underdog is 6-0 ATS, and that trend will continue in 2020 with Georgia not only covering but winning outright. Eighty percent of the bets FanDuel has taken in this game has been on the Georgia moneyline.

#8 Cincinnati Bearcats at Tulsa Golden Hurricane
Odds: Bearcats -3.5, Over/Under 43.5
The Cincinnati Bearcats come into this game with their highest ranking since their undefeated regular season in 2009 under Brian Kelly, while Tulsa is coming off a win vs. No. 11 Central Florida, which was their first win vs. a top 15 team since 1991.
Both teams play solid defense as they both rank in the top 25 in terms of yards per game allowed. Last year when they met, the Golden Hurricane defense gave Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder and their offense all sorts of issues as the Bearcats squeaked a victory out 24-13.
You can expect another low-scoring outcome in this game as both teams rank towards the bottom in terms of points scored and the under is 6-0 in the Bearcats last six conference games while it is 4-1 in the Golden Hurricane’s last five games.
Best Bet: Under 43.5
Boston College Eagles at #23 Virginia Tech Hokies
Odds: Hokies -12.5, Over/Under 62.5
Boston College has been one of the pleasant surprises so far in the ACC as many pundits picked them to finish last in the 15-team ACC. Bettors are all over them this week on FanDuel as 96% of the money bet in this game is on the Eagles to cover the spread.
BC has had success against the spread this year as they are 3-1, and in the last nine matchups vs. Virginia Tech, they are 7-2 ATS. This will be a perfect game for BC to jump-start their run game.
In last week’s game against UNC, the Hokie defense allowed 399 yards rushing on over nine yards per carry. While VT will most likely come away with a victory in this game, their defense isn’t good enough to cover the points.
Best Bet: Eagles +12.5
