NBA Series Price Previews: Knicks Vs. Cavaliers

<p>One of college basketball&#8217;s most polarizing players has made a move that few saw coming. Former Arizona guard Kerr Kriisa will join Bob Huggins at West Virginia after two disappointing NCAA Tournament runs with the Wildcats.</p>
<p>What does Kriisa bring to the Mountaineers? We discuss that in this edition of Transfer Portal Profiles.</p>
<h2>Career at Arizona</h2>
<p>Kriisa was the general of a fast-paced, exciting, and efficient Arizona offense for the past two seasons under head coach Tommy Lloyd. The Estonian helped lead the Wildcats to its best finish on KenPom since 2015 under Sean Miller. He was also an iron man for Lloyd during his time in Tucson. He missed just four of Arizona&#8217;s 72 games over the past two years.</p>
<h2>Scouting Report</h2>
<p>Kriisa is one of the top playmakers in the sport. He dished out 335 assists over the past two seasons while only committing 163 turnovers. His ability to make the right play in transition and the open court is one of the strongest facets of his game. Huggins should feel inclined to push the tempo whenever Kriisa is running the offense.</p>
<p>The weakness of Kriisa&#8217;s game comes on defense, where he can often be lazy or blow assignments. This will have to change in the Big 12, where there are no easy matchups. The conference floor is otherworldly compared to the Pac-12. Kriisa will need to address this to get into the good graces of Huggins and see serious playing time.</p>
<h2>The Fit</h2>
<p>To be blunt, Kriisa&#8217;s occasional antics won&#8217;t fly under the watching eye of Huggins in Morgantown. The rising senior tends to let his emotions get the better of him, and it&#8217;s something he will need to control. Still, Kriisa raises the floor of this backcourt and brings an energy that this team desperately missed in 2022-23. This could be a strong fit if Huggins can work his coaching magic and get Kriisa to channel his energy toward his play.</p>
