- Tristan Wirfs +400
- Mekhi Becton +550
- Jedrick Wills +800
- Andrew Thomas +1000
- Derrick Brown +1600

- K’Lavon Chaisson +10000
- CJ Henderson +25000
- Joe Burrow +50000

The odds tell us that Isaiah Simmons is the most likely pick for the New York Giants which makes sense for lots of reasons.
Joe Burrow is a virtual lock at #1, and Chase Young is a consensus top selection. The Lions are rumored to be interested in trading down if there is market interest in moving up for a QB, or in drafting blue-chip cornerback prospect Jeffrey Okudah.
But what do other sources of data tell us and how can we find value betting the Giants 1st round draft pick selection?
Leveraging wisdom of the crowd projections from Grinding the Mocks data for hundreds of expert mock drafts, we can get an understanding from how those following the draft closely expect the Giants and David Gettleman to draft. The answer isn’t as black and white as mainstream media will make it seem.
In those drafts, Jedrick Wills goes to the Giants in 20% of drafts, which means at +600 odds he offers some solid value for betting the Giants 1st round selection in the 2020 Draft. In addition to talent, you can wrap the narrative of protecting Daniel Jones and continuing to build out their offense. While there are plenty of strong offensive line prospects, the combination of odds and expert consensus shows the Wills offers the most betting value.
Isaiah Simmons is another favored expert selection to the Giants (and the most favored in betting markets), followed by Chase Young. The storyline around this is tied closely to the Washington Redskins who should select Young but may also be keen on Isaiah Simmons from Clemson. If Burrow goes to the Bengals, and the Redskins end up pulling the trigger on Simmons (without trading down) then that creates some interesting value scenarios.
Gettleman has actually noted that the team may be interested in trading down themselves but this is in direct conflict with his history of never trading down. Furthermore, the virtual draft is going to be very complicated and he has already hedged his bets. So lets assume that the Giants pick 4th and the Redskins reach on Simmons.
The Lions would then be left to decide between Young, trading down, or prized corner Jeffrey Okudah. If Young is still on the board, the Giants wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger. In fact, Chase Young goes to the New York Giants in 15% of expert mock drafts and at +2500 offers some interesting value, and even Okudah at +1600 seems to be worth a look.
Of course, the betting markets tell us that Isaiah Simmons is the most likely selection, but that doesn’t mean he is the best bet for the Giants 1st round draft pick.
