With Jon Rahm withdrawing from the American Express Desert Classic, there are still plenty of players to target for this tournament. Patrick Cantlay is one player who jumps out at +1400.
Cantlay played in 16 events last year and had one win and three top-ten finishes while missing the cut just once. He ended the year ranked ninth according to the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), and you only have to go back about three months to find his last PGA Tour win, which took place at the ZOZO Championship.
The California native already has four PGA Tour wins on his resume and he’s someone you would expect to be in the running to win a major this year.
The fact that Cantlay is still 14-1 with Rahm’s withdrawal is surprising because one would’ve thought his odds would’ve been even shorter as low as 10 to 1. Cantlay is a top-ten player in the world and he should vault right to the top of your card given his value at the current price of +1400.
