This weekly article aims to help fantasy managers pinpoint some two-start streamers with favorable matchups for the following week of the 2024 MLB season. These suggestions should be able to help out in a variety of season-long formats, but they can be instrumental in gaining an edge in weekly head-to-head leagues.

MacKenzie Gore (WSH) – vs. NYM, vs. ATL – 54%
It’s really quite surprising that MacKenzie Gore is still among the streaming ranks. He’s rostered in just over half the leagues around Yahoo! despite an elite 29.1 K% (10th in MLB) through 11 starts and an ERA that dipped below 3.00 with his most recent outing.

On Wednesday, Gore stifled the Braves offense in Atlanta, allowing only one earned run (two runs) on six hits and no walks while registering 10 punchouts. It was the second double-digit strikeout performance from the 25-year-old lefty this season, and he’s now racked up 30 across 24.2 innings over his last four starts.

In that same span, Gore has put up a stellar 2.19 ERA while limiting opponents to a .207 AVG. He’ll get two home starts next week – one against the struggling Mets before a rematch with the Braves.
Tyler Anderson (LAA) – vs. SD, vs. HOU – 46%
Tyler Anderson has been nothing but steady through his first 11 starts of the campaign. The veteran southpaw has allowed more than three earned runs only once and not more than four in any outing. He has also logged at least six frames in eight of his starts.

Effectively mixing his pitches to regularly induce weak contact (36.1% HardHit%), Anderson is sporting a 2.47 ERA and 1.13 WHIP for the year. His 48-to-29 K/BB across 69.1 innings doesn’t inspire confidence, but he’s been able to pitch around it so far due to a .196 AVG against and 87.0% strand rate. The term “effectively wild” comes to mind.

Anderson has produced some particularly strong results lately, as he’s surrendered exactly one run in each of his last three starts en route to a 1.35 ERA over 20 innings. Anderson will continue trying to outpitch the metrics in a pair of matchups against middle-tier offenses in Anaheim next week.
Matt Waldron (SD) – at LAA, vs. ARI – 13%
Matt Waldron was included in this week’s Waiver Wire Adds, so he makes for an obvious pick going into an inviting two-start week. Over his last four outings, the 27-year-old righty has been baffling opposing batters with his nasty knuckler, posting an outstanding 33.7 K% and 1.96 ERA (2.63 xFIP) across 23 innings.

Waldron has also limited the opposition to just a .224 AVG via a 24.1% HardHit% and an overall 74.3% Contact% during this run. He should be picked up and held onto ahead of next week wherever available.
