We have an exciting showdown tonight between two of the NL’s top teams chasing a wild-card bye as the Milwaukee Brewers will host the Philadelphia Phillies, prompting us to work up an ultimate same-game parlay for the action.
Valued at +800, let’s ride!
Leg 1: Phillies ML
The Phillies have a three-game lead over the Brewers in the NL standings as the Brew Crew continue to chase down one of the NL’s two wild card spots. As good as the Brewers have been, I can’t find a way to back them tonight, given that the Phillies are coming off an ugly loss and will have their ace, Zack Wheeler, on the mound. The Phils are set up to prevail, so we’ll back them confidently on the moneyline.
Leg 2: Zack Wheeler 7+ Strikeouts
The Brewers collectively don’t strike out a bunch, but Zack Wheeler is one of the few pitchers in baseball where it doesn’t matter who he’s facing. He can ring up anybody. He’s recorded at least seven strikeouts in nine of his last 12 games, with all three misses being six-strikeout outings. We know that Wheeler will put us on the brink of the seven-strikeout performance, so we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt as the Phils need this bounce-back win tonight.
Leg 3: Bryce Harper 2+ Total Bases
Of the last 17 games where Bryce Harper has recorded at least a hit, he recorded at least two total bases in 14 of those. Coming off a loss last night, Bryce is expected to lead the bounce-back effort, and we’re not too worried about Frankie Montas putting together an ace-level outing tonight.

Leg 4: Kyle Schwarber 1+ Hit
Kyle Schwarber has been a machine in September, posting a .364 batting average and recording a hit in 11 of 13 games. That’s good enough for us!
Leg 5: Jackson Chourio 1+ Hit
It’s difficult to pinpoint anyone on the Brewers to record a hit against Wheeler, but if we had to choose anyone in this Brewers’ lineup, it would have to be Jackson Chourio. The rookie is already the Brewers’ most dangerous hitter and will be batting out of the leadoff spot tonight, giving us the most upside in the number of potential at-bats. He’s also had a hit in four of his last five games leading into tonight, so we’ll count on Wheeler giving up a meaningless hit to him.
