Milwaukee in Six Leads the World Series Predictions
Both hosts like Milwaukee in the World Series. With Milwaukee priced at 182 on FanDuel, they also expressed comfort laying a game and a half at plus-110 odds. One prediction had Milwaukee winning the series in six games.
The biggest question is whether Tampa Bay can win one of the first two games in Milwaukee. One view was that Tampa Bay will win games in the series but will not take either of the opening two games or win three consecutive games. That combination points to Milwaukee finishing the series in six.
Anything can happen in baseball. The Blue Jays were inches away from winning the World Series last year when many expected LA to win in four. Still, Milwaukee’s home-field advantage was described as unusually strong and difficult to dismiss.
Tampa Bay was good during the regular season but finished only five games over .500 on the road. The Yankees, Red Sox and Guardians all had better road records. Even so, one prediction had Tampa Bay finding a way to win one game in Milwaukee.
The discussion also turned to the 2-3-2 World Series format. If the home team wins the first two games, it must then win twice on the road to close the series in five. That was viewed as difficult and more likely to produce a six-game series. The hosts suggested that a longer series also generates more money.
The three games in Saint Petersburg were confirmed as being scheduled on consecutive days, with Game 7 set for Friday night on Halloween. The increasingly early start to the baseball season was attributed to Major League Baseball wanting to avoid November games, freezing temperatures and snow.
The segment closed with a call for new stadiums to include retractable domes. Minnesota was cited as an example of a new stadium built without one, with the argument that multi-billion-dollar venues should be required to provide protection from difficult late-season weather.
