Rays vs. Brewers: An Old-School World Series Showdown

Rays Picked to Defeat Milwaukee in an Old-School World Series

Game 1 of the World Series between Tampa Bay and Milwaukee will be played Friday. The matchup may not have the usual punch, but it features two organizations built the right way and two managers who could arguably be considered among the best in Major League Baseball. Dave Roberts also belongs in that conversation.

This has the makings of an old-school World Series. At the beginning of the season, we thought Tampa Bay would win no more than 60 games. Instead, the Rays became American League champions and earned an opportunity to capture their first World Series title.

Both teams will be fighting for their first world championship. Milwaukee has never won one and has not reached the World Series since 1982, when the team played in the American League and lost to the Saint Louis Cardinals in seven games.

The series will feature young stars, including Christian Jelich with Milwaukee and Junior Camanro, one of the youngest stars in Major League Baseball.

Milwaukee is the hottest team entering the World Series, but the prediction here is Rays in seven games. Tampa Bay received great news regarding its stadium, won the American League East and captured the American League pennant. Now, in the World Series for the third time, this could be the year the Rays finally win it all.

That would be an incredible moment for a team that struggles with attendance and does not have the financial resources of an organization such as the Yankees. Winning the World Series could change that dynamic. Games 1 and 2 are set for Friday and Saturday.
