Otani’s Pitching Future Beyond 2027 Remains in Question

The expectation is that Otani will pitch in 2027, although he may take on a part-time role rather than remain a regular member of the rotation.

This could be his final attempt at pitching. After 2027, he may transition into being a hitter only.

The decision not to have surgery was more surprising. It remains to be seen whether rest and recovery will be enough after Otani looked like a shell of himself down the stretch.
