Gucci and Alpine Seal Major $150M F1 Partnership Deal

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From The Inside Line

Alpine Teams Up with Gucci in a High-Profile Partnership

Alpine F1 Team has made a significant move by securing Gucci as its title partner starting from 2027, replacing BWT. This multi-year agreement, valued at over $150 million, is seen as a clear indicator of Alpine's intention to re-establish itself as a top contender in Formula 1. The collaboration will not only bring a change in the team's name to Gucci Racing Alpine F1 Team but will also introduce a new livery. This livery, primarily in black and gold to reflect Gucci's iconic branding with a touch of Alpine’s blue, underscores the fashion-forward partnership. Alpine's executive advisor, Flavio Briatore, noted the team's unique approach and its historical success in blending fashion with top-tier racing performance.

Mercedes Withdraws From Alpine Investment Deal

Continuing developments at the Enstone-based team include Mercedes backing out from a deal to acquire a 24% share in Alpine, currently owned by investment group Otro Capital. Mercedes reportedly turned down the purchase due to disparities in the valuation of the team, which Otro Capital priced at $3 billion. This development comes after an initial alignment in 2023 where Otro Capital valued their stake at $230 million. Given this turn of events, former Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is now potentially leading a consortium to purchase this stake in Alpine.

Graham Loudon Dismisses Rumors About Driver Changes at Cadillac

Cadillac team boss Graham Loudon has denied recent claims that he plans to replace driver Valtteri Bottas. Loudon emphasized that these suggestions are factually incorrect, reaffirming that Bottas and his teammate Sergio Perez are focusing on developing the car. Despite Perez outperforming Bottas in four of the season’s first five races, Loudon supports Bottas, highlighting the team's focus on collaborative improvement rather than lineup changes.
