He admires Monaco's unique ability to blend heritage with the glamor of making drivers famous, citing legends such as Graham Hill and Ayrton Senna.

Reflecting on his time racing the Lotus 102, equipped with a powerful 3.5 L V12 Lamborghini engine, Donnelly reminisced about the physical demands of driving in that era. The cars of his time did not have modern assists like anti-lock braking systems or traction control. Drivers relied on basic gauges and their skills, making racing a highly physical and challenging endeavor.
