As mentioned above, the Warriors made the move to acquire Butler ahead of the deadline, and so far, the impact of the veteran forward has been arguably better than expected. Butler has taken the pressure off of Stephen Curry, and he’s made Golden State even more challenging to defend, as they now have an elite scorer outside on the perimeter and in the mid-range game. Meanwhile, the Mavericks enter this matchup shorthanded following the injuries to Anthony Davis and Daniel Gafford, among others. Assuming Golden State carries the momentum from the last two games into Wednesday’s battle, it wouldn’t be a shock to see them knock off the Mavericks by double digits, just as they’ve done in a couple of games.
