Elite Eight Preview: Texas Tech vs. Florida & Duke vs. Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide are set for a Saturday night conference clash against the Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight. Alabama enters this matchup riding high off a huge blowout win over BYU, where the Crimson Tide put together an offensive shooting display on the way to 113 points. Meanwhile, Duke has proven they&#8217;re the real deal, too, scoring 100 points in their win over Arizona on Thursday. Expect a dogfight in this showdown with both squads sharing the same championship aspirations.

Entering Thursday night&#8217;s matchup against BYU, Alabama looked like it could be a team with a weakness to exploit. Although that may be true, they proved in their win that when their shots fall, their offense can win them any game. Scoring 113 points in a standard regulation game in college, let alone in the Sweet 16, is unheard of.
Nate Oats&#8217;s squad put on a shooting clinic and proved they&#8217;re a top contender. Against Duke, they&#8217;ll need a similar shooting night to keep pace with the Blue Devils, and assuming Alabama knows this, I like the chances they come out aggressive and keep this game interesting.
Although Duke will likely come out on top, this matchup could come down to the wire, with a final score of 84-78 being a realistic outcome.
<h2>Alabama vs. Duke Best Total Bet: Under 175.0</h2>
Through the first three rounds of tournament play, Alabama is averaging 94.3 points per game. On the flip side, Duke is averaging 94 points per matchup themselves. These squads have the firepower to turn this into an offensive showdown quickly. However, it&#8217;s also likely that neither wants to get into a shootout with the other. That said, I expect both sides to play extra physical on defense, keeping the total score from exceeding the 174-point set total. Assuming the final score is similar to the abovementioned prediction, this game could finish around 162 total points scored.

Coming off a 30-point performance, where he drained three shots from deep in Duke&#8217;s win over Arizona, Flagg could carry the shooting confidence into their matchup against Alabama. I&#8217;ll take Flagg to finish with 2+ threes in this one.
