On Tuesday night, Chuck Martin’s Miami RedHawks travel to Muncie to play the Ball State Cardinals. Miami is one of three teams sitting at 3-1 in the MAC and is riding a three-game winning streak. The 2023 MAC Champions have one of the league’s best defenses, and their offense has rounded into form with three straight games of at least 30 points and 46 in their last outing. Miami averages 4.41 yards per carry, which is terrible news for the Ball State Cardinals. BSU is among the worst in the country at defending the run, allowing a whopping six yards per carry. Martin is one of the best and most underappreciated coaches in the Group of Five, and the RedHawks need a win to keep pace in the MAC.
We’ve got you covered with our favorite plays from Tuesday’s MACtion showdown.

Miami (OH) at Ball State Best Bet ATS: Ball State +12.5 and OVER 47.5
The SportsGrid model has a pair of five-star plays for this weeknight clash. First, the model loves Ball State getting 12.5 points at home. The Cardinals are 2-1 at home and have a two-point win at Scheumann Stadium over Northern Illinois just a week ago. In the past three games, Ball State beat Kent State, only lost by ten points at Vanderbilt, and then beat the NIU Huskies. They enter this game playing their best football and should have a decent crowd in Muncie for this game. The model has a five-star play on this game, exceeding the total of 47.5. Ball State’s four conference games have each gone over the current number of 47.5, and three of their MAC games have gone about 70 points total.

Miami (OH) at Ball State Best Player Props
There are no player prop picks with five-star projections, but the model does have a few three-star plays to consider, all for Ball State players. First, take Vaughn Pemberton (Ball State running back) to score a touchdown. His number is +410. Second, take the over on quarterback Kadin Semonza’s passing touchdowns (1.5) and over 202.5 passing yards. With the expectation that this game reaches the 50s, there should be some offensive fireworks. Finally, the model has one of those passing touchdowns going to wide receiver Cam Pickett, and at +300 for an anytime touchdown, there is good value.
