The college football season continues with Week 14 action. What SEC bets should you make this week? The SEC has plenty of contenders looking to make their mark for the National Championship in 2024, highlighted by Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. The journey for these powerhouse programs continues in Week 14.

The Tennessee Volunteers have a clear path toward the College Football Playoff. Win this game against Vanderbilt, and it’s pretty hard to envision them being left out of the dance. Although the Commodores present real upset potential (CC: Alabama and almost Texas), it’s hard to see the Volunteers slipping up here. Still, the Commodores do many things on offense that can trouble this Tennessee defense. Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia has the mobility that’s given the Volunteers real issues. We don’t need the Commodores to turn the SEC on its head again; we only need them to keep this a ten-point game. The Commodores have done that against top competition like Alabama, Texas, and LSU. You can even throw in a ranked Missouri to the mix. The Commodores’ consistency in these spots gives us some confidence they can keep this game close against the Volunteers again.

Louisville Cardinals vs Kentucky Wildcats

Besides a tight game against Georgia and an upset win over Ole Miss, there haven’t been a lot of positives to speak about with the Kentucky Wildcats. It was hard to gauge where this team would end up, but with all their talent on defense, we were sold on them being more of a nuisance in the SEC. That hasn’t transpired, and this program has looked worse down the stretch as they try to get things sorted out on offense. On the other hand, the Louisville Cardinals have some explosive elements on offense that can give this Kentucky defense some pause. Although it hasn’t been a perfect run from the Cardinals, they have a signature win over Clemson and tight losses to SMU, Notre Dame, and Miami. The Wildcats aren’t in the same class as those potential College Football Playoff teams. Louisville has more to offer in this matchup, and there’s real value in them adding another victory to their resume.
