Washington senior linebacker Bryun Parham has decided to redshirt for the 2024 season and plans to enter the transfer portal.
Just hours before Washington’s first Big Ten road game against Rutgers, the Huskies suffered a notable loss. Senior linebacker Bryun Parham announced he’ll be redshirting the rest of the 2024 season with plans to enter the transfer portal ahead of 2025.
Parham, who stands at 5-foot-11 and 223 pounds, transferred to Washington this season after three productive years at San Jose State. Preserving his final year of eligibility, Parham made the decision without having used a redshirt at San Jose State. In his brief time with the Huskies, he appeared in four games, making 11 tackles—the maximum games allowed to keep redshirt eligibility.

In his post on social media, Parham emphasized that his decision wasn’t influenced by NIL considerations and expressed gratitude to Washington’s coaching staff for the opportunity.
During his time at San Jose State, Parham was a standout, appearing in 32 games (24 starts) and tallying 199 tackles, 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception, and six pass deflections.
Despite being in the thick of the 2024 campaign, Parham has his sights looking ahead to the 2025 season. Parham’s next step will undoubtedly be a highly anticipated move.
