Take a look at the Big 12 standings. It's crowded. BYU sits at the top with a perfect record, followed by the Colorado Buffaloes with just one conference loss to Kansas State. As we stand today, those two teams are in the drivers seat to play in the Big 12 Championship. As a result, the likes of Iowa State, Kansas State, Arizona State, and West Virginia need to essentially play perfect football down the stretch.

ACC Teams That Lose

The SMU Mustangs are in an interesting position. If they lose this week, they still have a path to the ACC title game as the only team without a conference loss, but they certainly make their lives much more difficult. The ACC hasn't gotten a lot of respect from the College Football Playoff committee, and as we stand, it's hard to see multiple teams getting bids from the conference. I'm skeptical about the overall ceiling for this conference, and it's hard to see multiple teams getting bids. 

Missouri Tigers

To say it's been a difficult season for the Missouri Tigers would be an understatement. The Tigers entered the year with expectations of College Football Playoff or bust. As of this point, that appears to be a pipe dream. The Tigers have plenty of talent on their roster, but it just hasn't come together for a multitude of reasons. A loss against South Carolina this week would cement the disappointment.

With no conference championship to play for, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish only have the ability to get an at large bid into the College Football Playoff. After an early season let down against Northern Illinois, the Fighting Irish can't afford another blemish on their schedule.
