The Tennessee Volunteers powered through the competition this year, accumulating the second-most yards of any playoff team. While their scoring was efficient, they still ranked fifth among National Championship contenders.
12. Georgia Bulldogs
Yards per Game: 413.8 (47th)
Points per Game: 33.3 (T28th)

Shockingly, the Georgia Bulldogs have the worst composite aggregate of any playoff team. Their 413.8 yards and 33.3 points per game ranked 47th and T28th, respectively, putting them at an offensive disadvantage against any other playoff team.
11. Arizona State Sun Devils
Yards per Game: 423.2 (37th)
Points per Game: 33.1 (T30th)

The Arizona State Sun Devils are a one-trick pony, relying on Cam Skattebo to get them yards. While Skattebo was one of the best in the game, the Sun Devils will need more offensive production if they hope to make a playoff run.
10. SMU Mustangs

Points per Game: 38.5 (6th)

Credit to the SMU Mustangs for their sixth-ranked scoring offense, but there are a couple of concerning metrics worth noting. SMU was less effective at generating offense, and its best showings came against inferior opponents.
9. Ohio State Buckeyes
Yards per Game: 423.5 (35th)
Points per Game: 35.5 (T16th)

Perennially, the Ohio State Buckeyes rank as a top offensive team; however, they put up less consistent metrics in 2024. The Buckeyes had middling benchmarks in both the passing and rushing attacks, which means they'll need to rely on their defense if they hope to win this year's title.
8. Clemson Tigers
Yards per Game: 454.9 (12th)
Points per Game: 35.5 (T16th)

Assuredly, the Clemson Tigers would not be in the postseason if not for their offense. Still, inconsistency against top teams hampers their playoff outlook.
7. Texas Longhorns
Yards per Game: 445.4 (18th)
Points per Game: 33.6 (T24th)

While the Texas Longhorns burst out of the gates, their offensive metrics waned as the season progressed. If they can recapture their early-season glory, there may be no stopping the Longhorns in the playoffs.
6. Penn State Nittany Lions

Points per Game: 33.6 (T24th)

The Penn State Nittany Lions feature one of the most dynamic offenses in the country. They averaged north of 200 rushing yards per game, nearly reaching 250 via the pass.
5. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Points per Game: 39.8 (3rd)

Granted, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish don't have the most robust production metrics, there weren't many teams better at scoring than they were. With Riley Leonard operating as a dual-threat, Notre Dame can get yards how it needs to on offense.
4. Indiana Hoosiers

Points per Game: 43.3 (2nd)

One of the top-scoring teams in the FBS, the Indiana Hoosiers didn't always have the production to support their gaudy scoring totals. Nevertheless, they are just as comfortable churning out yards through the air as they are on the ground, making them a tough out in the playoffs.
3. Boise State Broncos
Yards per Game: 470.2 (6th)
Points per Game: 39.1 (4th)

The biggest knock on the Boise State Broncos is that they managed this elite offensive profile against mostly Group of Five teams. Still, we saw what they had to offer versus Oregon, cementing their position as a top-three team.

Yards per Game: 449.8 (14th)
Points per Game: 35.9 (14th)

Arguably, no team relied more on its offense than the Oregon Ducks. The undefeated Big Ten Champions took a balanced approach and maximized the production of all of its top stars.
