College Football Top Five: Miami Claims the No. 1 Spot

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Outspoken With Dan Sileo

Miami Takes the Top Spot in a College Football Top Five

College football teams are beginning to separate themselves after an eventful weekend. Miami remained undefeated by defeating the University of Pittsburgh 52-23.

Indiana sits at No. 5. It is not quite the same team from a couple of years ago, but Curt Cignetti and his coaching staff have done an excellent job. The Hoosiers have wobbled at times this season, but they got it done at Northwestern a couple of weeks ago before suffering a tough loss to Ohio State. Indiana remains capable of making a run at the national championship.

Georgia is No. 4 and remains one of the most complete teams despite its loss. Kirby Smart’s team has plenty of talent and depth on both sides of the ball. Georgia can run the football and continues to perform exceptionally well defensively.

Ohio State comes in at No. 3. The major questions involve Ryan Day and how the Buckeyes will handle the next couple of weeks without Julian Sayin. If they can weather his absence and get him back into the lineup, they could make a late run at the Big Ten championship. Another Indiana-Ohio State matchup in Indianapolis would not be a surprise.

Notre Dame holds the No. 2 spot, while Miami sits at No. 1. Their November 7 matchup is one to anticipate.
