Patrick Mahomes Does it Again
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have advanced to their third Super Bowl in a row after taking down the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. From a statistical sense, it was an underwhelming season for Mahomes in the Chiefs offense, but we know he's always capable of showing up in these big spots, which he did again on Sunday. Mahomes finished the game with 245 yards through the air, one passing touchdown, 43 rushing yards, and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Mahomes took what the Bills defense gave him, turning in one of his best performances of the year when the Chiefs needed it the most. What an extraordinary legacy he continues to create.

Kareem Hunt Surprises
One big concern for the Chiefs entering the AFC Championship Game revolved around their running back room. I had concerns that the Chiefs would be able to find success in their backfield. Kareem Hunt proved me wrong, even with a less-than-stellar yards-per-carry. The Chiefs don't win this football game without some key bursts from Hunt, who finished the night with 17 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. Will Hunt continue to lead their backfield in the Super Bowl?

Andy Reid Sticks to his Guns
If you know anything about Andy Reid and his offensive preferences, you know he loves nothing more than to out-leverage defenders on the outside and draw up plays in the flat. By all accounts, the Chiefs are headed to their third Super Bowl in a row because of two key play designs in the flat. The Chiefs do this better than any team in the NFL, and a big reason for that is Reid's brilliance on offense.

Xavier Worthy Shines
The irony of the Bills trading back to the Chiefs in the 2024 NFL Draft and allowing them to select Xavier Worthy. You can make a pretty strong case that the Chiefs wouldn't have won this football game without the contributions of Worthy, who hauled in six catches for 85 yards and a touchdown to lead the game. Worthy's explosiveness has allowed him to be a difference-maker in this offense once his brain caught up with the pace of play in the NFL. The former Texas Longhorn is already proving to be a star in the league.
Kansas City Can Still Win Without Kelce Playing Big Role
If you only looked at the box score from the AFC Championship Game and saw Travis Kelce caught just two passes for 19 yards, you might assume the Chiefs lost the game. That wasn't the case on Sunday, and Kelce's impact came from his blocking. The Chiefs have long relied on their star tight end to move the chains, but that wasn't the case on Sunday evening as they advanced to their third straight Super Bowl.
