Texas vs Chiefs Best Bet ATS: Chiefs -8.5 (-108)

The Chiefs remain a threat to win the AFC Conference again and play for a third straight Super Bowl. The Chiefs posted an elite 15-2 record this year, but they didn’t portray that much dominance on the field. Patrick Mahomes is a major difference-maker in January, and it’s hard to look away from Kansas City in a home environment. Looking at the visitors, the Texans have quietly been going about their business down the stretch. The Texans’ defense has been much better recently, which might give you some pause in laying the points with the Chiefs. Many will be scared to lay this type of number when you factor in the Chiefs’ lack of blowout wins this season. Still, the Chiefs looked like a team ramping up down the stretch, and we all know this team has another gear in the postseason. It’s a considerable number, but I’ve learned not to bet against Mahomes in these big spots.

Texans vs Chiefs Best Bet Total: UNDER 41.5 (-110)

The Texans and Chiefs have played strong defensively down the stretch. With a pair of pass rushes that know how to make noise, you can grasp why this total is sitting at 41.5. These two teams want to establish the run, but moving the football in this matchup will be challenging, especially with how good the Texans looked defensively on Wild Card Weekend. Even if you expect the Chiefs to have an uptick in offensive production in the postseason, this number is still pretty rich when you factor in how these teams want to play. It will be difficult for this Texans offense to find a rhythm, and we already know the type of unique looks that Steve Spagnuolo can dial up on defense. Points will be hard to come in this one. Don’t let us riding with the Chiefs to cover the number scare you away from the game also going under.
