49ers Stay Unbeaten as JSN’s Drop and a Fourth-Down Call Doom Seattle

What a win for the 49ers, while JSN dropped the game for Seattle. The best receiver in football had an opportunity to deliver and could not make the play.

There will also be debate about whether Cooper Kupp reached the line to gain on fourth-and-10. The referee who made the call was behind him, which was not a good look. I did not think Kupp made it, and I believe the official got the call right. However, the angle was strange, and replay officials ultimately determined there was not enough indisputable evidence to overturn the ruling.

The 49ers are 5-0 for the third time under Kyle Shanahan. On the previous two occasions, they reached the Super Bowl but lost. If you are as high on the 49ers as I am, that history offers a promising precedent for a team that might finally win the Lombardi.

San Francisco is the best team in the NFC, and I think it is the best team in football. The defense played well despite allowing plenty of yards and points.

Seattle is beginning to come into form, but its running game still leaves something to be desired. We will see what happens when Zach Charbonnet returns, but the Seahawks should have paid Kenneth Walker. Letting him walk was a mistake, and the offense is still not nearly as effective.
