Bengals vs. Ravens Odds Shift With Lamar Jackson Out

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From NFL Pro Football Today

Lamar Jackson’s Absence Shifts Bengals-Ravens Line and Raises Questions for Baltimore

The Bengals-Ravens matchup produced the biggest line movement of the week. Baltimore opened as a two-point favorite before the game moved to even and then Cincinnati became the favorite. That movement indicated Lamar Jackson would not play. Cincinnati is now favored by 2.5 points, with the line reaching three points in some places and potentially climbing higher before kickoff.

Jackson may be more injured than previously indicated, or he may be unwilling to return until he is fully healthy as he enters the final year of his contract without a new deal. Either way, his absence creates a significant deficit at quarterback for Baltimore.

When everything is right, the Ravens are one of the best teams in the NFL. However, the difference between Jackson and Tyler Huntley is substantial. Although divisional games are often close, Cincinnati or no bet is the preferred approach in this matchup.

Baltimore still has healthy playmakers in Zay Flowers, Jacoby Lane and Derrick Henry. The question is whether the Ravens can generate enough offense without Jackson. They understand the magnitude of the game, especially at home after already losing a divisional matchup, and should not lack motivation.

Cincinnati also has questions in its backfield. Chase Brown has been underwhelming after also starting slowly last season before improving over the final eight weeks. It remains to be seen whether he can turn things around again or whether the Bengals will lean more heavily on Samaje Perine.

The total is another point of interest. If it falls to around 44.5, the over remains appealing because the Bengals could account for a large share of the scoring and potentially reach 30 points. The key is whether Baltimore can contribute enough offense to keep pace. Waiting for the lowest available total would be the preferred strategy.

Jonathan Taylor has also been linked to Cincinnati in insider discussions. If the Bengals continue winning and add him to the offense, the unit could take another major step forward.
