Chiefs-Seahawks Matchup Puts Kenny Walker and Seattle’s Offense in the Spotlight
The Chiefs and Seahawks could deliver a compelling game. Seattle enters the matchup at 3-3 after wobbling through its schedule, while Kenny Walker has been playing sensational football.
The game also carries a sense of revenge for Walker. Seattle never offered him a contract, with John Schneider allowing him to leave without putting a deal on the table. After Walker became a Super Bowl MVP, nothing would feel better for him than returning to Seattle and producing a dominant rushing performance.
Seattle is a three-point home favorite in a prime-time game, essentially receiving the standard respect for home-field advantage. However, Kansas City has plainly been the better team through six weeks and remains undefeated. With a healthy Patrick Mahomes, getting three points makes the Chiefs an appealing side, although the apparent absence of Rasheed Rice is a concern.
The biggest question is whether Seattle can score enough to keep pace if Kansas City generates offense. Sam Darnold is not playing well, and JSN is Seattle’s primary weapon on that side of the ball. Establishing the running game could give the Seahawks a path, especially with Charbonnet expected to return and potentially creating a three-player committee.
Even with Seattle at home and needing to right the ship, the Chiefs are the favored choice in this matchup.
