Cowboys Hold a Slight Edge Over Packers in Potential Sunday Night Shootout
The Cowboys appear to be at a crossroads, with their matchup against the Packers potentially becoming a must-win game. Green Bay enters the contest after blowing past the Bears at Lambeau, but questions remain about both teams.
The Packers look capable of dominating weaker opponents while struggling against stronger competition. Dallas may not be much different. Both teams can score points in bunches, making Jordan Love’s ability to attack vertically a potential deciding factor.
Love completed six of eight passes thrown at least 25 yards downfield last week. That rate may be difficult to sustain, but Dallas is vulnerable within 10 yards. If Love consistently completes underneath passes before attacking over the top, the Cowboys could have problems.
Dallas has a slight advantage because it can run the ball and provide some offensive balance. Green Bay received two rushing touchdowns from Marshaw Lloyd last week, but the Packers have otherwise struggled to run effectively. One-dimensional football has little room to succeed in 2026.
Green Bay also has major concerns along its offensive line, making Love’s production through the air even more impressive. The Cowboys are the slight favorite in what should be an entertaining Sunday Night Football matchup.
