Jalen Hurts' Scary Injury: Eagles' Season in Jeopardy?

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Outspoken With Dan Sileo

Concerns Grow Over How the Eagles Handled Jalen Hurts’ Health Situation

The handling of Jalen Hurts’ health situation by the NFLPA, the NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles has raised serious concerns. Mentioning blood clots and the lungs makes the situation legitimately scary, particularly with Hurts now done for the season.

The NFLPA reportedly demanded that the situation be cleaned up within 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Eagles held Hurts out of the game against Carolina but initially said he would not go on injured reserve, suggesting he could return within four games. Six hours later, he was placed on injured reserve, and the following day, he was ruled out for the year.

Those rapid changes created the impression that the Eagles wanted to keep their options open while Hurts’ side viewed the matter as settled because of the blood clots, his lungs and the need for blood thinners.

The best outcome would be for Hurts to fully recover and return to the field next year. However, it would not be surprising if his relationship with Philadelphia has been fractured, and it would be difficult to blame him if that is how he feels.

The Eagles may not be concerned about that possibility if the team has already been considering a complete change involving both the quarterback and coach.
