Week 7 Injuries Create Lineup Questions and Fantasy Trade Opportunities
Several players have been ruled out for Week 7, including Nick Bosa, Mike Evans, Debo Samuel, Ibuca, Tyler Warren, Montgomery, Jeremiah Love and Rasheed Rice. San Francisco is once again dealing with significant injuries, particularly within its wide receiver group.
With Mike Evans unavailable, Brandon Cooks has started to contribute after being signed as a veteran option. Jordan Watkins is also working into the game, while Christian Kirk is returning. The team will need to pivot and find a different approach.
On National Tight End Day, George Kittle has an opportunity to step up when his team needs him. The injuries at wide receiver could also make the Forty-Niners’ game more competitive, which is beginning to be reflected in the line.
Zach Charbonnet’s early return to practice was surprising. Medical opinions suggested he should not be expected to return to form until around Thanksgiving, making an October return appear premature. In fantasy leagues, Charbonnet may have carried more theoretical value than actual value.
Managers who traded Charbonnet when his practice window opened may have done well if they received a player such as Ollie Gordon or Jordan Mason, who is expected to return this week. At this stage, finding available contributors is essential.
With Bruce Hall closer to returning, Braylan Allen has another opportunity to take over as the Jets’ top running back this week. However, fantasy managers with running back depth should consider trading Allen to the Bree Hall manager for a player who could remain useful for the rest of the season.
Allen may be valuable this week, but his role could quickly change if Hall returns next week. His window of fantasy usefulness may be closing, making this a potential opportunity to move him.
