1. New Jersey Devils
After a season filled with injuries, the New Jersey Devils should be back in the race for a division title under new head coach Sheldon Keefe. A healthy Jack Hughes and Dougie Hamilton will do wonders for this group, and they finally have the goaltending to make noise.
Metropolitan Division Odds: +220
2. New York Rangers
The New York Rangers remain a top contender to winning the division and the Eastern Conference. It's a contract year for goaltender Igor Shesterkin, and he needs to be at his best to lead this Rangers team to the promised lands.
Metropolitan Division Odds: +290
3. Carolina Hurricanes
We're simply trusting the consistency of head coach Rod Brind'Amour in this position in the Metropolitan division. From a roster standpoint, the Hurricanes got worse this offseason. If this team stays healthy, it still has the components needed to compete for the division crown.
Metropolitan Division Odds: +260
4. New York Islanders
The New York Islanders never seem to go away. With an entire offseason under new head coach Patrick Roy, the Islanders are a team worth watching. If Ilya Sorokin can get healthy and play up to his potential, the Islanders might sneak up on teams in the Metro.
Metropolitan Division Odds: +1000

5. Philadelphia Flyers
People forget that the Philadelphia Flyers were a playoff team for much of last season. I think they got better this offseason, and if the hype behind Matvei Michkov is real, this team could find itself in a playoff spot.
Metropolitan Division Odds: +1800
6. Pittsburgh Penguins
It will be challenging to figure out what you'll get out of this veteran team nightly. Of course, Sidney Crosby is still one of the best players in the game, but there are more red flags on this roster than you'd like to see for a team in win-now mode.
Metropolitan Division Odds: +1100
7. Washington Capitals
The Washington Capitals made some moves in the offseason that should help this group. This team has a lot of new parts, and I'm not sure they all fit together well. If Pierre-Luc Dubois plays the game he's capable of playing, the Caps could surprise again.
Metropolitan Division Odds: +1500
8. Columbus Blue Jackets
It's hard to expect much from the Columbus Blue Jackets this season after Johnny Gaudreau's tragic offseason passing. Wouldn't it be great if this group came together and went on a magical run?
Metropolitan Division Odds: +15000
