SportsGrid’s Best NHL Bets & Player Props for February 21

With a nice slate in the NHL today, with value on the board worth considering.

SportsGrid looks at the top hockey bets and props for Wednesday’s action.

10:00 p.m. ET – Boston Bruins vs. Edmonton Oilers

Puck Line: Oilers – 1.5 | Moneyline: Oilers Moneyline -146 | Total: 6.5 (O +100, U -122)

Where to Watch: TNT, MAX, SN1, SNE, SNP, SNW, TVAS | Location: Rogers Place (Edmonton, AB)

The Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins are set to square off later tonight in Edmonton in what many consider a possible Stanley Cup Final preview. The Bruins enter this matchup with a middling 4-4-2 record over their last ten games, while the Oilers are 7-3 over that same sample size. In addition, the Oilers have been a dominant home team, owning a 17-6-1 record at Rogers Place. Despite the juice, take the Oilers to stay hot.

SportsGrid’s Best Bet: Oilers Moneyline (-146) | SportsGrid Projections: 5 Star Rating

Bobby McMann – Toronto Maple Leafs to Score a Goal

One of the compelling stories for the Toronto Maple Leafs has been the progression of forward Bobby McMann. Many expected him to come in and out of the lineup with a small role, but his impact has forced Sheldon Keefe’s hand to give him more minutes. McMann has tallied 14 points in 30 games, but he’s red-hot and has recorded seven over his last four games, including six goals. The value is too good here at +420 to not back him to score again tonight.

SportsGrid’s Best Bet: McMann to Score (+420) | SportsGrid Projections: 5 Star Rating

Lawson Crouse – Lawson Crouse to Record Over 1.5 Shots on Goal

Former first-round draft pick Lawson Crouse is a name we’ll be keeping a close eye on from the Arizona Coyotes tonight. Crouse has supplied some excellent secondary scoring for the Coyotes and manufactured 31 points in 54 games, making him a potential name on the block come the trade deadline. Crouse has his shots on goal prop tonight set at just 1.5, and he’s gone over that number in each of his last five games

SportsGrid’s Best Bet: Crouse to Record Over 1.5 Shots (-188) | SportsGrid Projections: 5 Star Rating

Connor McDavid – Edmonton Oilers to Record Under 3.5 Shots on Goal

After a slow start to the season, Connor McDavid has turned the jets on and gotten right back in the race for the NHL’s Art Ross trophy. McDavid has tallied 83 points in 50 games, including 12 points over his last four games. Despite the high-level production, McDavid hasn’t been firing pucks on the net, and we expect that to continue tonight. McDavid’s shots on goal prop is set at 3.5, and he’s gone under that number in each of his last four games

SportsGrid’s Best Bet: McDavid to Record Under 3.5 Shots (-144) | SportsGrid Projections: 5 Star Rating

Brad Marchand – Boston Bruins to Score a Goal

Facing off against a strong team in Edmonton, this is precisely the type of game that Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins get up for. Marchand’s production has continued to be solid, tallying 51 points in 56 games. Marchand hasn’t scored in his last five games, but the Oilers can be had in front of the net, and that’s where Marchand specializes. Look for Marchand to break his drought tonight and find the back of the net at +210

SportsGrid’s Best Bet: Marchand to Score (+210) | SportsGrid Projections: 5 Star Rating
