Born in Madrid to Moroccan parents, Hakimi was initiated into the world of professional football through Real Madrid's youth system, making his debut at just 17 during a pre-season friendly. Recognized for his potential, Hakimi was loaned to Borussia Dortmund by Real Madrid, where he quickly made a mark by making three assists in his first Champions League outing and breaking the Bundesliga speed record.
