Historic FIFA Exhibition and Congress in Paraguay

Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, recently hosted an historic exhibition to celebrate the rich heritage and culture of international and South American football. This event coincided with the 75th FIFA Congress, marking Paraguay's first time hosting this significant gathering. The exhibition, dubbed the 'FIFA 120th year anniversary,' was organized by the FIFA Museum and the Museo Conmebol.

The event showcased original trophies, football relics, and interactive experiences, attracting both locals and delegates attending the FIFA Congress. Notable items included the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA Women's World Cup, the CONMEBOL trophies, Copa Libertadores, and Copa America. The exhibition provided a unique opportunity for passionate football fans in Paraguay to connect with the sport's prestigious history.

According to the organizers, Paraguay's involvement in FIFA dates back 100 years, with the Paraguayan Football Association having joined at the 14th ordinary Congress in Prague in May 1925. This centennial celebration underscores the long-standing relationship between Paraguay and the global football governing body.

Alejandro Dominguez, president of CONMEBOL, and a FIFA vice president were both present and expressed their pride and excitement for the exhibition. Their presence highlighted the importance of bringing football closer to fans around the world, fulfilling FIFA's mission of global football promotion. The exhibition's success over its three-day duration in Asuncion was anticipated to resonate deeply with the local community and visiting delegates alike, thanks to Paraguay's vibrant passion for football.
