Jaedon LeDee - San Diego State
The season-to-season leap we have seen from San Diego State's Jaedon LeDee may be the biggest the sport has offered in 2023-24. After being a role player off the bench for the Aztecs in their run to the national championship game last year, he has blossomed into the alpha for the program and is an absolute beast. Averaging over 20 points per game on 57.2 percent shooting from the floor, paired with 9.4 rebounds and a San Diego State team that looks like they haven't missed a beat, is a recipe for All-American candidacy.
Isaiah Stevens - Colorado State
There may not be a better passer in college basketball than Colorado State's Isaiah Stevens. He is one of the most fun players to watch in the country, often dashing through the open court, attacking the rim, or finding the open man. He's slightly undersized at just 6'0", but it doesn't keep him from being an efficient scorer, knocking down 52 percent of his shots from the floor. The Rams are having one of their most successful seasons in program history, and Stevens is at the epicenter of it all.
Xavier Johnson - Southern Illinois
There are two players in college basketball with at least eight KenPom Game MVPs this season: Purdue's Zach Edey and Southern Illinois's Xavier Johnson. The 6'1" guard is seeing remarkably high levels of usage - eighth highest possession usage percentage in all of college basketball - yet he's maintaining incredible levels of efficiency. He's one of just three players nationally being utilized in at least 35 percent of his team's possessions while maintaining a field goal percentage of 50 percent or higher. Johnson's combination of volume and efficiency makes him a total game-wrecker on any given night.
Vonterius Woolbright - Western Carolina
The nation's leader in defensive rebounds is a 6'5" guard at Western Carolina. Yes, you read that right. Vonterius Woolbright, a senior guard with the Catamounts, is averaging more rebounds per game than Purdue's Zach Edey, North Carolina's Armando Bacot and is just three rebounds behind Kansas's Hunter Dickinson. Add in that the Albany, Georgia native is a lethal 20+ points per game scorer, averaging over five assists per contest, and you get a legitimate All-American candidate. There is simply nobody else in the sport doing what Woolbright is with Western Carolina this season.
Tyon Grant-Foster - Grand Canyon
Grant-Foster experienced two medical emergencies in the last two years, with the first occurring right at halftime during his debut with DePaul two seasons ago. After receiving medical clearance in March, Grant-Foster has risen to become the star player for Grand Canyon, which is now considered the favorite to win the WAC. His remarkable story is just the beginning, as he's leading the program to new heights with his high-major talent and elite scoring. The Antelopes have already shown their ceiling with impressive wins over San Diego State, San Francisco, and Liberty. Watch out for Grant-Foster and his talented team when March rolls around.
