Welcome to the pinnacle of European club football. As the UEFA Champions League semi-finals beckon, there are a plethora of storylines surrounding the four European giants that remain. Will Harry Kane have his chance of obtaining a long-awaited trophy, or will the inevitable Real Madrid play villains yet again?

Regardless, the 2024 semi-finals promise to deliver. History will be made, legends will be born, and footy fans will be entertained.

With the first legs set to kickoff, my best bets and previews for this week’s matches are below.

Champions League Semis: Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid

  • Leg 1: Tuesday | 3:00 p.m. ET
  • Game Odds: Bayern Munich Moneyline (+145)
  • Real Madrid ML (+180) | Draw (+240)
  • Total: Over 2.5 (-142) | Under 2.5 (+118)

Bayern Munich have struggled to find consistent form all year, yet somehow find themselves in their first European semi-final since the 2019-2020 season. Munich has found form at the perfect time, winning four games in a row. The German giants are on a 15-game unbeaten streak in the Champions League, and it’s been three years since they have lost a home game in the competition. Furthermore, striker Harry Kane is unstoppable right now, scoring 11 goals in his last ten games. Unfortunately, the side is dealing with many injuries heading into this tie. Matthijs de-Ligt, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Konrad Laimer, and Kingsley Coman are all game-time decisions for the first leg.

Meanwhile, their opponents, Real Madrid, are determined to reclaim their status as Europe’s elite. The winningest club in the history of the Champions League has lifted the trophy a record 14 times before. Led by the experienced tactician Carlos Ancelotti, Los Blancos always seems to find a way to win. Their roster is brimming with talent,  including Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, and Vinícius Júnior. Heading into this semi-final, Real Madrid will only be missing Dani Carvajal from the lineup that has got them this far. With Madrid’s trademark resilience and flair, they are the team to beat in this year’s competition.

Recent history shows Madrid has the upper hand, winning seven of the last ten meetings between these two sides. However, the two sides haven’t met since Cristiano Ronaldo played for Los Blancos.

Champions League Semis Best Bets: Bayern Munich Draw No Bet (-124) | Harry Kane Anytime Goal (+120)
