MLB Fall Classic Game 5: Milwaukee vs. Tampa Bay Predictions!

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From LatiNation Sports

Milwaukee Favored in Game 5 as Basketball Predictions Shift in Real Time

Game 5 of the Fall Classic is tonight, with traders favoring the team from Milwaukee at 59% over Tampa Bay at 41%. Tampa Bay earned a 4-3 win last night, but Milwaukee has been far more dominant in its victories, including a 10-1 win.

No team in professional baseball history has lost a seven-game series after taking a 3-0 lead. Based on that history and Milwaukee’s performance, the expectation is that Milwaukee will win the Fall Classic, possibly as soon as tonight. Tampa Bay’s 41% prediction may reflect support for the underdog.

In professional basketball, the prediction for Philadelphia to beat Indiana moved from 66% to 67% in real time. Miami, meanwhile, is 0-4 and enters its game at Atlanta as the underdog. The WNBA team from Atlanta is playing a sold-out finals game at noon before the arena is cleared for the city’s professional men’s team to play that night.

Minnesota is favored against Golden State despite player number 5, Ant-Man, being unavailable. Minnesota’s depth and point guard play are among the reasons the team remains favored.

Paulo Ascencio joined the discussion to break down Game 5. He was surprised Tampa Bay recovered after losing 10-1 in Game 3. One of Milwaukee’s most impressive sequences in that game featured seven consecutive base hits with two outs. Instead of chasing home runs, the hitters focused on reaching base and moving runners around.

Milwaukee has also received unexpected power. David Hamilton, the team’s number 9 hitter, hit only four home runs during the year but already has two in the World Series. Rookie Cooper Pratt began the season in the minor leagues and was playing high school baseball in Mississippi three years ago. He came close to helping Milwaukee clinch the franchise’s World Series trophy, but Tampa Bay responded with one more run.

Now the series moves to Game 5, with Milwaukee favored and Tampa Bay trying to extend the Fall Classic.
