Rays Player Props: Back Caminero and Diaz in Game 4

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Game Time Decisions

Junior Caminero and Yandy Díaz Player Props Lead the Tampa Bay Discussion

Two Tampa Bay players stand out for hits, runs and RBIs combo props tonight: Junior Caminero and Yandy Díaz.

Caminero drew criticism for his five-minute home run trot in the clinching game against Cleveland and has done little in the World Series, going 2-for-10 with one RBI. Still, he is a terrific player who could respond with a big performance. Recording at least two combined hits, runs and RBIs is not asking much from a player of his ability.

Díaz has also been selected to record at least two combined hits, runs and RBIs at -125. After beginning the series in an 0-for-9 slump across Games 1 and 2, he collected two hits in Game 3. Unlike Caminero, whose production has largely come from one home run, Díaz can contribute as a gap-to-gap hitter.

Tampa Bay’s offensive numbers have been ugly through three games, with one home run and seven runs. The team’s top players must step up, but the Rays have also run into a Milwaukee team that is playing exceptionally well.

Milwaukee’s run brings to mind the Yankees teams of 1996, 1998 and 1999, when they rolled through opponents. Freddie Freeman expressed a similar sense of helplessness after his series, saying Milwaukee answered everything his team did. Leads of 2-0 and 4-0 were not enough, and he ultimately acknowledged that Milwaukee was simply better.

The same thing appears to be happening to Tampa Bay. Over a regular-season set of five games in Milwaukee and five in Saint Petersburg, the teams might split 5-5. The Rays were extremely difficult to beat at home and knew how to pitch, hit and bunt for their ballpark, but none of that has mattered in this matchup.

Milwaukee deserves credit throughout the organization, from its manager and player development to its ability to find pitchers. The team has improved even after losing Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, Josh Hader and manager Craig Counsell.
