Best NBA Betting Picks for Sunday: 3-Game Parlay Predictions
Leg 1: Rockets +5.5
Where to Watch Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors
- Arena: Chase Center
- Location: San Francisco, CA
- Where to Watch: ESPN
- Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
- Spread: GSW -5.5 | Total: 225.5
- Moneyline: GSW -220 | HOU +180
- Rockets vs. Warriors Matchup Page
It’s been a hell of a run for the Golden State Warriors. The Dubs have won five straight and seven of their last 10, to move within 1.0 games of the Los Angeles Lakers for top spot in the Pacific Division. They’re looking to maintain that run when they host the Houston Rockets on Sunday night.
Golden State’s resurgence is founded on improved offensive basketball; however, the Warriors could be reaching a tipping point in their metrics. They’ve overachieved offensively in each of their last five wins, blowing past their points per game average in four of five and shooting percentage in three of five. Inevitably, those benchmarks will regress toward season averages.
The Rockets’ elite defense can facilitate some of that anticipated regression. While its offense often steals the headlines, Houston ranks as one of premier defensive clubs in the NBA. They’ve held their opponents to 111 points or fewer in five straight, on 46.3% shooting.
Houston likes to slow the pace, which could throw off the Warriors’ free-flowing offense. We don’t think Golden State can put that much distance between itself and the Rockets. We’re planting our flag in Houston covering the spread.

Leg 2: Pelicans Moneyline +270
Where to Watch Milwaukee Bucks vs. New Orleans Pelicans
- Arena: Smoothie King Center
- Location: New Orleans, LA
- Where to Watch: GCSEN
- Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
- Spread: MIL -8.5 | Total: 222
- Moneyline: MIL -320 | NOP +270
- Bucks vs. Pelicans Matchup Page
It’s been an underwhelming season for the New Orleans Pelicans, to say the least. But the Pelicans aren’t going down without a fight. They’ll have the chance to improve on their current standing when they host the Milwaukee Bucks at the Smoothie King Center.
While they’re a less impressive 2-4 straight up, the Pels are 4-0-2 against the spread over their last six. Over that stretch, they’ve held four of those opponents to 114 points or fewer, which is vast improvement relative to their season-long standing. They’ll need every ounce of that defensive effort to contain the Bucks.
Milwaukee underwent a major transformation this season. Previously, their success was premised on tough defensive play. However, they’ve shifted gears by placing more of an emphasis on offense. That’s paid off more recently, but the Bucks’ underlying metrics are overheating.
Over its last three games, Milwaukee is averaging 126.7 points per game on a mind-numbing 58.4% shooting. Those metrics are beyond sustainable, putting the Bucks at risk of immediate regression. That anticipated downfall starts tonight. Assuredly, there’s an edge in taking the Pelicans against the spread, but we like their chances of pulling off the outright upset.
Leg 3: SAS-POR Over 227.5
Where to Watch San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers
- Arena: Moda Center
- Location: Portland, OR
- Where to Watch: KATU, KUNP, and FDSSW
- Time: 6:00 p.m. ET
- Spread: POR -5 | Total: 227.5
- Moneyline: POR -190 | SAS +160
- Spurs vs. Trail Blazers Matchup Page
Not mathematically eliminated from postseason contention yet, one of the Portland Trail Blazers or San Antonio Spurs will move closer to a play-in berth on Sunday. From a betting perspective, the Blazers are out in front, but we suspect the winner triumphs in a high-scoring affair.
While they’re coming off consecutive unders, the Trail Blazers have been one of the more reliable ‘over’ teams across their recent schedule. Since March 21, Portland has eclipsed the total in five of their eight games. That increase in scoring is twofold. The Blazers are doing more on offense, but it’s coming at the expense of their defensive stability.
Recently, that’s been the Spurs’ MO too. San Antonio is happy to trade offensive chances with its opponents, sending four of their last six over the total. Further, since the start of March, the Spurs are 14-6 to the over.
All signs point toward a shootout in Portland. The Spurs and Blazers have sacrificed their defensive integrity for more offensive chances. In the end, we predict this one sails over the 227.5 total.
