8:00 p.m. ET – Indiana at New York
Spread: New York (-4.5) | Moneyline: | Total: 222.5
Where to Watch: TNT | Location: Madison Square Garden
The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks went toe-to-toe in the Garden on Monday night in Game 1, with the Pacers using a barrage of points in the paint and a very effective bench to grab a nine-point fourth-quarter lead. As has been the case all postseason, New York’s Jalen Brunson was the best player on the floor down the stretch, and he brought the Knicks back and took the lead for the home team. The Pacers refused to give in but were undone by a called kickball that should have been a steal, and a bizarre moving screen called on Myles Turner that took away their chance to win game one.
The two sides tip off for game two on Wednesday night and SportsGrid has the Knicks projected to take a 2-0 series lead and has a three-star projection on the Knicks covering the 4.5-point spread with a six-point win. The Pacers need a much better performance from Tyrese Haliburton if they are to push the Knicks in this series. Indiana has to come up with a fourth-quarter plan for star Jalen Brunson. The total in tonight’s game has been ratcheted up to 222.5, and the SportsGrid model has the game finishing at 222 points.
