Caleb Wilson Leads an Exciting Rookie Class

Caleb Wilson has immediately emerged as an exciting player to watch for the Chicago Bulls. There will be growing pains, but his athleticism leaps off the screen. He is already showing go-to moves, making NBA threes and breaking Michael Jordan-level scoring records for the Bulls.

Although the Bulls brought in Norman Powell to take shots, Wilson’s development is the only thing that matters for Chicago this season. When a recent game reached its final four minutes, there was little interest in seeing anyone else shoot the ball.

The same development-first approach applies elsewhere. For the Los Angeles Clippers, Keen Wagler is what matters. With the Memphis Grizzlies, Ty Jerome has been unbelievable to begin the year, but Boozer’s development is the priority.

Darren Peterson has not responded as expected out of the gate, while the first games from the Bonza and Wilson showed that both players already look physically ready. Wilson appears to be the front-runner for end-of-season awards, although the race could be close between him, the Banza and Yaxel.

Yaxel will generate headlines because he talks, and the Warriors’ situation could also put him in a better position. Overall, it looks like a promising year for the rookies. Malik Thomas from Cleveland scored 16 points, while Trayvon Brazil had an excellent game in Denver’s home win.
