Knicks Championship Ring and 2026-27 Repeat Title Odds

Segment Spotlight: Quick Hits From Game Time Decisions

Knicks Celebrate Their Championship With an Elaborate Ring as Repeat Hopes Face Scrutiny

The Knicks are celebrating last season’s championship with an elaborate ring ahead of their ceremony. The design features a ring within the ring, with Madison Square Garden incorporated into the interior.

Teams continue to do impressive work with championship rings, and they should. Winning a championship is incredibly difficult, while live sports remain enormously valuable because so many fans want to watch their teams and see them succeed. However the Knicks choose to celebrate their title, they deserve credit for the accomplishment.

The Knicks’ championship run was difficult to anticipate. Even with family members who are devoted Knicks fans, it did not feel possible until midway through the NBA playoffs. Oklahoma City had appeared destined to win, making its eventual loss a reminder that anything can happen.

New York enters this season as one of the favorites in the East, but there does not appear to be an automatic expectation that the defending champions will repeat. Many people may instead favor Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Philadelphia or another team from the Western Conference.

Knicks fans may be expecting a three-peat, but this was not a team built to become a dynasty. Jalen Brunson took a significant pay cut to give the Knicks an opportunity to add players such as KAT and Anunoby. The approach paid off with a championship, although Brunson is unlikely to take another pay cut during the remainder of his Knicks career.

The Knicks were assembled to win a championship and deliver a memorable story for New York. Their situation is different from Oklahoma City under Sam Presti or Golden State, which were built with longer dynastic runs in mind.
