Miami Hurricanes
Since entering the portal, Miami has been one of the first programs to be linked to Thiero. After a 15-17 season, the Hurricanes are desperately seeking talent to turn their basketball program around. If they can convince the versatile guard to join them in the ACC, it’ll give Thiero a chance to lead his own team while also providing the Hurricanes top talent in the hopes of returning to their winning ways.
CBB Transfer Portal: Top 5 Landing Spots for Adou Thiero
Adou Thiero committed to Kentucky out of high school as one of the top recruits in his class. However, after two seasons with the Wildcats, the six-foot-eight combo guard seeks a more significant role elsewhere. With the talented player entering the transfer portal, these five schools could be an ideal landing spot.
Indiana Hoosiers
Indiana has added multiple big-name recruits so far, and with Mike Woodson set to lead the Hoosiers for another year, adding Thiero would be huge ahead of next season. The Hoosiers are building something special, and with the 19-year-old looking to have a more significant role, Indiana could give him that. Not to mention, learning under a seasoned coach like Woodson could be a big selling point as well.
Gonzaga Bulldogs
Gonzaga is known for bringing top talent in, and with their pursuit of Thiero, they’d be doing just that. The sophomore could fit right into the Bulldogs lineup, and it could be a massive get for one of the top programs in the nation. With Gonzaga constantly considered a top contender for the national championship each season, it could be a significant factor in their recruiting process to convince the Pennsylvania native to join their squad.
Arizona Wildcats
During last season's transfer portal cycle, Arizona landed one of the top transfers in Caleb Love. This year, the Wildcats hope to land yet another big-time transfer. With Arizona looking to finally get over the hurdle in March, adding Thiero could help him do that. Putting him in a position to develop and showcase his skillset, he could be a scary duo with Love if the guard decides to return for another year. If not, he could step into Love’s role and be a vital part of the Wildcats' offense.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Ohio State already landed a scoring guard in South Carolina’s transfer, Meechie Johnson. But with the Buckeyes cooking to bolster their backcourt, the addition of Thiero makes perfect sense. His versatility in playing multiple positions will give OSU the flexibility to throw out a variety of lineups. Playing for Ohio State would also allow Thiero to be closer to his home state.
